Scythe Courses 2017
5th August – English Scythe Course, for connoisseurs of the English Scythe, the only course dedicated to using and maintaining these vintage tools which have a special appeal. – Weald & Downland Museum
12th August – Learn to Mow with a Scythe in the lovely surroudings of the Weald and Downland Museum. A course for beginners or those wanting to improve their technique, covering setup, mowing, honing and sharpening, maintenance and introduction to peening.
5th September – Learn to Mow with a Scythe – organised by Surrey Wildlife Trust at Bay Pond Educational Nature Reserve, Godstone, Surrey RH9 8LT
7th September – Learn to Mow with a Scythe – organised by Guildford Environmental Forum at the Rosamund Community Garden on Pewley Down. A course for beginners or those wanting to improve their technique and covers setup, mowing, honing and sharpening, maintenance and introduction to peening (contact John Bannister – johnwbannister@virgin.net or call on 01483 570468 ).
